Important Updates

  • It's July, and World Hepatitis Month, a time to educate about viral hepatitis. Use their campaign materials to help raise awareness online and with your networks. Get information about viral hepatitis from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
  • Our Bicentennial Exhibit is now open! Visit the exhibit on 200 Years of Medicine in Cleveland at the Cleveland History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS) through September. 

Here in Cleveland

  • The ADAMHS Board, in conjunction with MetroHealth and St. Vincent Charity, announced that a new psychiatric emergency department will open on MetroHealth's Cleveland Heights campus later this fall.
  • On June 20, the NEO Opioid Consortium hosted a virtual forum entitled, “Beyond Narcan: Treating Opioid Use Disorder in the Field”, to learn more about an EMS model to preventing overdose and how our local providers and community organizations might be able to replicate similar efforts in our community.

  • The Ohio Department of Health Bureau of Infectious Diseases is seeking support from health care providers to strengthen summer influenza viral surveillance.
  • The Ohio House of Representatives voted to pass of HB 24, providing coverage for biomarker testing, a win for patients suffering from cancer and other illnesses. Read our coalition letter here
