The FDA may shift focus away from second boosters for those under 50 and toward a faster delivery of the "next generation of boosters." US Physician Shortage Expected to Get Worse. TIME.com discusses potential solutions . CVS Health is asking pharmacists in some states to verify that a few of the prescriptions they provide will not be used to end a pregnancy. The drugstore chain recently started doing this for methotrexate and misoprostol, two drugs that are used in medication abortions but also to treat other conditions.
		From Washington The AMA Releases Summary of Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Rule. The proposed rule covers diverse topics, including the CY 2023 Rate Setting and Medicare Conversion Factor, Evaluation/Management (E/M) services, telehealth and other services involving communications technology, and updates to the Quality Payment Program through Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) activities, methodology, payment adjustments, amongst other provisions. These proposed updates apply to services furnished in all sites by physicians and other practitioners. The Biden administration has selected Dr.Monica Bertagnolli, a renowned surgical oncologist, as the next director of the National Cancer Institute.
		From Columbus OhioRISE Launch Update: The OhioRISE (Resilience through Integrated Systems and Excellence) program has been active for a month and has already enrolled more than 6,450 children. The program is Ohio’s first-ever highly specialized behavioral health program for children and youth with the most complex behavioral health needs who are served by Medicaid. OhioRISE was created with the goal of developing a child- and family-centric system of care that works to increase accessibility to in-home and community-based services to keep families together. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Announces Opioid Settlement Funds. The first payments of funds to local governments from the OneOhio settlement with national opioid distributors have been made electronically. Local governments will determine how to use the payments, totaling more than $8.6 million, to best combat the opioid epidemic in their own communities.
