The Biden administration Declares Monkeypox a National Emergency. As of August 4, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has delivered more than 602,000 doses of Bavarian Nordic’s JYNNESO vaccine for the prevention of monkeypox and smallpox, to support local response efforts. The Biden Administration is expected to extend the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration for another 90-day period pushing the expiration date into January 11, 2023.
