  • AMCNO is partnering with MedWish to collect medical supplies for Ukraine war relief efforts. This flyer explains the types of supplies needed. Supplies may be dropped off any Wednesday at the AMCNO offices, from 9 am - 5 pm, or pick-up can be arranged by emailing Val Yanoska at [email protected]. If you wish to donate money to help purchase items, please donate at www.amcno.org/amef and select a donation to help purchase supplies. 100% of your donation will go to MedWish.

  • Ohio holds the first of two primary elections this year: Republican Mike DeWine will face off against Democrat Nan Whaley, the former mayor of Dayton. She is the first female gubernatorial candidate from a major party in Ohio. Additionally, Democratic Representative Tim Ryan of Youngstown will face off against Cincinnati Republican author JD Vance in the U.S. Senate race for Sen. Rob Portman's seat.
  • DeWine signs bill allowing nursing home visits in future pandemics: The legislation, HB 120, was drafted in response to concerns from Ohioans who could not access their loved ones in nursing homes due to COVID-19 restrictions.
 

Online Misinformation Linked to Early COVID-19 Vaccination Hesitancy and Refusal

  • Leveraging data from Twitter, Facebook, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this study investigates how online misinformation is associated with vaccination rates and levels of vaccine hesitancy across the United States.
  • Not there yet: Although Dr. Anthony Fauci declared recently that we are “past the pandemic phase,” 36 states saw an increase during the previous week in COVID-19 cases, according to CDC data.
