  • April is National Minority Health Month (NMHM), a time to raise awareness about health disparities that continue to affect people from racial and ethnic minority groups and encourage action through health education, early detection, and control of disease complications.

 

From Washington:

  • The Biden-Harris Administration is working to address the maternal health crisis in the U.S., including reducing maternal mortality and morbidity and advancing maternity care quality, safety, and equity.
  • Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra extended the Public Health Emergency determination for an additional 90 days, effective April 16. This is the ninth such extension since the original declaration.
