From Washington:

• Telehealth expansions gaining momentum: During the COVID-19 pandemic, relaxed regulations around telehealth allowed providers to expand virtual health offerings.  Two members of Congress are trying to extend the flexibilities for an additional two years.
• Maternal deaths rose during COVID-19: According to the CDC, maternal mortality rates for 2020 were up 14% from the previous year. Additionally, rates for non-Hispanic Black women were significantly higher than rates for non-Hispanic White and Hispanic women.
