- November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Diabetes affects more than 37 million people in the United States. The American Diabetes Association released a website page to go along with its campaign “Today's Diabetes Hits Different." The website has events, programs, recipes and a social media toolkit.
- Pediatric health provider groups are calling on the Biden administration to declare a national emergency to help them combat the surge of hospitalizations due to respiratory illnesses in children.
- Younger physicians were more likely to experience stress, emotional distress, or burnout according to a new Commonwealth Report on the global primary care crisis.

- At least 30 U.S. states (including Ohio) or territories recently have had "very high" or "high" rates of influenza activity, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
- No word last week from the Biden Administration indicates the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency will be extended past Jan. 11, ensuring continued Medicaid coverage for hundreds of thousands of Ohioans.
- A new investigation by KFF’s Kaiser Health News (KHN) examines the sizeable efforts by private equity investors to take over large and lucrative partsof the U.S health care system in recent years. KHN found that private equity firms have invested nearly $1 trillion through thousands of deals to acquire hospitals and specialized medical practices during the last decade alone.
